Issue in the neighbourhood

ok..am back,after a one year hiatus.
the issue i would like to discuss here is more political than my last few blogs. Pakistan decided to release Hafeez Sayeed from the house arrest that he was under, post 26/11. the reason put forward was the obvious one, something that the pakistani government has been harping on, quite irritatingly, for the last few months - the lack of evidence.
one is compelled to wonder what actually the government means by "evidence". everything short of an actual confession letter by the ISI has been laid out in the open.

it may well be remembered that Hafeez Sayeed was a main proponent of the LeT, a terror organisation, and once it had been branded as one he formed a parallel JuD. however he put forth the claim that the JuD is not a terrorist organisation but a harmless spreading the message of god. however the UN Security Council did brand Jud a terror organisation. such is the back ground
The government of India regards Sayeed as a master mind of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks and it was partially due to their insistence and foreign pressure that Pakistan put Sayeed under house arrest. however after his trial Justice Chaudhuri freed him off all charges levied on him. the lame excuse put forth by his lawyer was " he could not have planned the carnage because he wasntpresent in mumbai on that fateful day".

one is compelled to think of the consequences, especially now that the goverment of Pakistan is facing a such threat from the Talibans. can Pakistan afford to wage a cold war with neighbouringindia or would she be better served to have her neighbour with them in their war against theTalibs?a hostile Taliban on the north west province and Indians boiling with fury on the east..has pakistan bit off more than what they can chew??
